Welcome to My Personal Page
Hello, Friends and Family:
I’m taking the PLUNGE for Camp Sunshine at Wachusett Mountain on Sunday, March 17!
Please help me by either making a donation OR signing up to PLUNGE with me! I’m sure it will be a WARM day in the middle of winter. All funds raised will help send children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to Camp Sunshine.
I learned about Camp Sunshine from my friend and coworker, Roxanne Davidson. Her son Scotty was diagnosed with anoptic chiasm hypothalamic glioma at the tender age of 5. Scotty is now 17 years old and getting ready to choose the college he will attend in the Fall.
I have been inspired by Roxanne's stories of Scotty's illness, his positive attitude, and her stories of their time as campers and volunteers at Camp Sunshine. I've met Scotty, and he is a polite, charming, and enterprising young man. I understand that everyone has a charity that is near and dear to one's heart, but I'm asking for as many donations as possible - no matter how small - so that I can help the campers and familites financially, in addition to jumping into the icy cold water of an outdoor pool.
If you know anything about me, you know that it takes quite awhile for me to get into any kind of water, even in the middle of summer. But if Scotty can fight his illness like a soldier, then I can certainly put on my big girl panties (or whatever costume Roxanne dreams up) and jump into a pool of water in the winter.
