Welcome to My Personal Page
Dear Family and Friends,
In 2012, my wife Debbie and I found out about Camp Sunshine through our wonderful friend and neighbor Tom Withers. We learned that Camp Sunshine is a charity organization that runs a camp for children, who are facing life-threatening illnesses, and their families and has the distinction of being the only program in the nation whose mission is to address the impact of life-threatening illnesses on every member of the immediate family – the ill child, the parents, and the siblings. The year-round program is free of charge to each family and includes medical and psychosocial support and services, recreational programs, accommodations, and meals....... so we immediately decided to get involved.
With less than two weeks left to the Virginia Polar Plunge, we aggressively reached out to our friends and family to help raise funds for this wonderful organization. With everyone's generous donations, we were able to raise $3,300 the first time we participated in 2013 (in less than a week).
Fast forward to 2015, 2 kids later, we decided to recruit 10 of our friends to take the Polar Plunge and help us raise $15,000; a little ambitious yes but if you know anything about my wife Debbie is that she likes to go all out. To our surprise the recruiting process was easier than expected, all but one of the other 10 participants (Juan Rodas, who kept insisting that he is from Ecuador and that he despises the cold) said yes to jumping in a frozen lake in the middle February within 60 seconds.
So here we are once again asking you to help us reach our goal of raising $15,000 for Camp Sunshine and supporting this wonderful organization. On February 11 come have fun, see us, the S-Ski-Moe's, take the polar plunge in our funniest costumes and help us reach our goal of raising $15,000 for this wonderful Charity.
