Gail Toth's 2023 Virginia Polar Dip
What started out as a week-long respite at Camp Sunshine after our oldest daughter was diagnosed with cancer at age 2 1/2 has turned into a very big part of my family's life. After that first trip to Camp Sunshine we have returned every year for the past 26 yrs. as volunteers. Having experienced first-hand the impact of a life-threatening illness and the support we received at Camp Sunshine, we have become involved in fundraising so other families can experience this unique retreat. It is one of my favorite places on earth.
Camp Sunshine is a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to relax and be around other families going through similar challenges. At Camp Sunshine each session focuses on a different illness. Programs include housing, meals, on-site medical and psychosocial support, as well as many activities for the whole family. Attendance at Camp Sunshine is completely free to the families.
My personal fundraising goal is $1500, while my goal for the whole Virginia Polar Dip is $100,000. We have the opportunity to meet our $1M goal of money raised through this event. Please help us reach that momentous occasion!
No donation is too small. Please join me by plunging with us or cheering us on. Thank you in advance for helping other families have a chance to experience the magic of Camp Sunshine.
